1. Be Aware Of Your Surroundings - Awareness of your surroundings will greatly increase the chances of survival in the event of an attack. Simply being mindful will provide survival information such as: Where exits are located? What are my obstacles on the path to my escape? How many potential attackers are present? Are my attackers armed? Are any potential weapons available? Please note that the most beneficial type of awareness takes place before the violent encounter takes place. This also gives one a chance to assess potential problematic situations as they develop. Thus giving more options, one of which a hasty retreat. Information acquired as a result of being aware will aid in important decision making during the fight for survival.
2. Relax - During an attack it is important to stay calm and relax. Tension affects the mind & body negatively. Relaxing the body & mind will have extraordinary positive benefits when dealing with a crisis. While relaxed one is quicker, more alert, relaxed hits are heavy and damaging, one can absorb hits easier, conserve vital energy, etc.
3.Remain in Action - Action is quicker than reaction so as soon as you made your decision remain in action. When you are inactive you are an easy target. Remaining in motion will begin your journey to escape, make you a difficult target, heighten you natural reflexes, responding while in action is quicker than responding while not in action & if an offensive is needed for evasion you will initiate quicker than an attacker will expect. If for some reason fear causes temporary paralysis begin to stomp your feet in a running motion while having your arms extended above your shoulders ready to field an on coming attack. The stomping will shock your nervous system and will essentially snap you out of shock while adding tremendous power to your hits if needed in the forms of knees, stomps to the foot, fielding attacks, hand attacks to attackers.
4. Run, Run, Run - Don't be afraid to run, avoiding a potentially dangerous situation is the best way to keep you safe. Even if you think you have the situation in control, other factors like hidden weapons, multiple attackers, protection of family & friends can easily put you at a huge risk. Even if you still decide to fight you could face serious legal charges if you cause permanent damage to your attacker. It is simply not worth the effort, avoidance is always the smarter way out.
5. Stomp on Foot - Stomp on top of foot right below the arc, around the middle of foot. If effectively preformed this will break attackers foot allowing an easy escape.

6. Finger or Thumb in Eye - Stick finger or thumb (preferably thumb) in eye of attacker making an entry in side inner part of eye (closest to nose). The intention is to get finger behind the eyeball forcing it out, not poking. This will blind the attacker allowing easy retreat. Attacking the eyes will always get the same response regardless of size and will provide major disruption to attackers advancements even if you donÕt even touch the eye.

7. Hit Side of Throat - The side of the neck contains a complicated system of nerves & veins, which regulate blood pressure to the brain. If the signals regulating blood pressure to the brain is interrupted resulting in a increase or decrease of blood pressure to the brain the brain will protect the body and cease functions and reboot (loose consciousness & regain consciousness). This can be accomplished by punching, chopping, hammer fisting the side of attackers neck, the vertical middle.

8. Hit Front of throat - Hitting the front of throat in a quick direct on and off strike will result in attacker loosing the ability to breath normally for a few moments. The length will vary depending on type of strike, pressure, accuracy, etcÉ Only use when in a life threatening situation for this strike has the potential to kill or cause major damage very easily.
9. Hit Groin - This is self explanatory, I would just suggest hitting quickly bouncing on & off target with initial intention of hasty evasion.
10. Knee Break - Breaking an attackers knee will diffuse his ability to attack, giving one the opportunity to get away safely. Two break knee kick attackers knee from side (inner or outer, outer is more convenient) first across and then down. When kicking horizontally step into the kick as if walking and then drop weight into attackers leg.."

All the world loves a Range Rover. The queen digs them—she's had one modified with teensy steps for her corgis and wounded peasants to climb up easily. Even jaded redneck car guys will dress up in full kilt just for the chance to tool around in one (but that was years ago, and I needed the money).

But as many props as it gets, the Range Rover gets no love for its strong performance. Cue the Range Rover Sport: a tighter, shorter, faster and more lascivious version of the world's finest sport-ute.

Thanks to a 4.2-liter V-8 engine supercharged to 390-hp perfection, the Sport guns to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and tops out at 140 mph. It's the fastest Land Rover ever-so, not quite as fast as a Lamborghini, but quick enough to blow your kilt back over your head.

I pitched the Sport against a freak snowstorm in Barcelona, and even the locals could tell the difference between the big Rover and the lithe, lower Sport. With fender flares, 20-inch wheels and a sloping roof line, the Sport gives the impression of speed-like a latte-addicted Robin Williams- even before you get rolling.

Better yet, Land Rover has tightened its handling. Like BMW's X5, the Sport is meant for carving up mountain passes on—and off—road, thanks to the Hill Descent Control and the Terrain Response four-wheel-drive systems. Once you do take a turn into the bush, a nifty air suspension raises the height of the vehicle at the touch of a button to better manhandle the landscape.

Should we talk about the cockpit now? Let's. There's a six-speed automatic, but you can shift the gears manually, if that's your kick. Massive Brembo front brakes and six air bags will protect everyone involved in your vehicular shenanigans. The standard bi-xenon headlamps track along with the direction of the car, and the adaptive cruise control uses radar to keep you following the car ahead of you at a decent pace, leaving you time to shove fresh pimentos into your martini olives.

His designs range from spectacular interior designs to mass produced consumer goods such as toothbrushes and chairs.

Starck plans to donate the proceeds to charity and was quoted in this Washington Post article as saying: “I am a designer and design is my only weapon.

What’s next for Starck? In addition to his new hotels, there are also plans for a hydrogen car, and a new boat with a hull which makes no waves at 25 knots. Starck owns 19 houses, flies the world in his private plane, bouncing around the globe and drinking champagne with friends but he also claims to be depressed (it’s his Russian side) and to be a very dark person. "The term hovercraft was first used by Sir Christopher Cockerell (1910-1999) to describe his ingenious invention: a boat that can travel over water without actually touching the water, thus reducing the drag and increasing the speed of the vehicle. Engine power is directed to fans that blow air into a rubber skirt, which retains the air and then gives way when hitting an obstacle such as a wave or a rock giving the illusion of actually floating on air. The engine also provides power to another propeller, which is used for thrust. Rudders placed at the rear of the hovercraft handle steering.













Unfortunately, you can't just walk into a boat dealer and place an order for a hovercraft, but you can contact one of several companies that offer "build-it-yourself kits". Mind you, chances are that you won't have the time, skill, or patience to build your own hovercraft but there are now a few companies that have an alluring group of products and will build the kits for you. Universal Hovercraft in Harvard, Illinois has developed one of the most unique models. The UH-18SP not only hovers, but also can actually fly up to five feet above terrain, in ground effect. "At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, PDA accessory vendor iBIZ Technology announced that its Virtual Laser Keyboard will ship shortly. The Virtual Laser Keyboard is compatible with Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds, as well as laptops and desktop PCs.
This cool new device, which has no moving parts, attaches to a handheld and projects the image of a full-size keyboard onto the surface of the desk where a PDA is placed. The keyboard image is that of a full-size QWERTY keyboard. And because it is virtual, it should be more convenient to use than folding-type keyboards. Of course, those who enjoy the feedback that real keyboards offer may find typing on the hard surface of a desk a little tiring after a while.

The 15-kilogram (33-pound) battery-powered suit, code-named HAL-5, detects muscle movements through electrical-signal flows on the skin surface and then amplifies them.

It can also move on its own accord, enabling it to help elderly or handicapped people walk, developers said.

The prototype suit will be displayed at the World Exposition that is currently taking place in Aichi prefecture, central Japan.

Japan has seen a growing market for technology geared toward the elderly, who are making up an increasing chunk of the population as fewer younger Japanese choose to start families.

A government report last week showed that pensioners made up a record 19.5 percent of the country's population in 2004 and that the ratio will grow rapidly, surpassing 35 percent in 2050." [Via news.yahoo.com]
